What This is a collection of instrumental music, soundtracks, sound collages, and doodles that I've tossed off over the past several years in my home studio. Some of these are songs that I never got around to writing lyrics for, Because these are instrumentals means there ain't no singin', and lots of people don't like that. Also, the names are mostly meaningless, except for maybe the ones called "Soundtrack" 'cause that's what they are. Then there's "Toy Guitar" which was played on a toy guitar.
Who Music composed and performed by Ned Danison, pictured at left. Some samples were used, among them: reconstructed ancient languages ("Hope Springs Eternal"), Balinese & Maori folk singing ("Om") and Inuit throat singing ("Soundtrack 34"). I used samples from Edwin Starr's "War", The Capitols' "Cool Jerk", and Dramatics' "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" in "Jerkbeat". I sampled "Would I Lie to You" by Charles & Eddie in "Smoov 4"
Edward Hopper's painting "Nighthawks" appears in the background photo above.
